My biggest fear is that we won’t be able to get those professionals back and rebuild the departments, even if we somehow stop this train.

That’s the scariest part. How many left the country that will never, ever return? Even if we fix this tomorrow, the damage to the infrastructure isn’t just a “throw money at it” repair.
