Neil Diamond was born in my home town of New York City. Only Don Henley of the Eagles was from Texas - and he left! The others were from Los Angeles, and Detroit.

At some point in the late 70's mom got into Steely Dan. I hated them immediately because she liked them (learned to appreciate them later). The irony is that she hyper-analyzed every rock song lyric I listened to but every other Dan song was about drugs, drinking and fucking, hahaha.
