Idgaf if you’re naked. Feeding bears desensitizes them to human interaction. When they’re already breaking into patios, cars, and homes to get food that isn’t naturally in their diet, it’s bad enough. But when you get a predator comfortable coming close, you endanger THE BEAR. F&W will shoot them.

Can I pet that dog? I have a polite black bear that visits me too! After he roots through my garbage bin (shredding everything), he closes the lid. The raccoons that visit are less polite, throwing the trash all over the yard and knocking the bin over!

Haha! I watched a bear once holding open a dumpster lid with one front paw while rummaging and picking out the good garbage with the other. Had no idea how dexterous they were. The bear proof lid had no chance at all. ☺️

I would so give a snack for that cool bear but I do it for wild pigs and oh oh they live with me now 😂

They used to walk on my porch in upstate New Hampshire and I would open the window and tell them to go away and they would. They would rather avoid confrontation.

Central NH here. A mama comes to my neighborhood every year to have babies. Not sure if it’s the same one, or if the first one gave such good reviews, others have followed. She raids our bird feeders but is otherwise non problematic.

One got into my garage and ate some of my Christmas ornaments because they smelled like gingerbread. Lol I always gave the mama bears plenty of room. They don't run away as easy as a single bear

She looks so happy and comfy perched up there - where you’d swear she just could never get comfy. As for her babies - I bet they’ll let you know their names soon. If they’re happy, they always let you know what those are eventually.
