This reminds me of the famous quote by Clarke A. Arthur: any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology.

You have it backwards: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." -- Arthur C. Clark's Third Law And this holds true at any given level of technology. In the 15th century, a working electric lightbulb would have been considered witchcraft.

Now, you can install a sensor that allows you to turn on lights with a wave of your hand, which would have been seen as magical in, say, 1920. In a few years, we'll likely be able to install a simple chip in your brain that allows you to control your house with thoughts. Magic is what magic does.
