Would agree re monocausality. But think the “lying about sex is NBD” impeachment position was a huge deal. And I view the Thomas hearings as a much bigger deal than Bork, which I analogize to Haynsworth, Carswell, and Fortas hardball. (Btw - think Thomas should have been rejected on qualifications.)
