I learned to read at age five, thanks to diligent parents and shared reading aloud, me sounding out words. Then came the discovery of the dictionary. We had an enormous one, oversize and about 4 inches thick, kept in the family room. I'd ask, "what's that mean?" Answer: "Go get the dictionary."🥰
