This weekend here in South Loop has been amazing for people watching. The crowds for Oasis, MCR, Lumineers and now System of a Down / Avenged Sevenfold are so different. Went to MCR Friday and I don’t think I’ve seen a community atmosphere that tight. Unbelievable show too!
Lumineers crowd so far seemed the least likable. MCR most. Oasis crowd seemed friendly but reserved and older. System fans have been very diverse as I’ve observed. Lumineers crowd? Weird mix of teenage girls doing cowboy fit and country club gen x republicans. St Vincent opened. Tepid crowd.
This is of course from a distance except for the MCR interaction which was a beautiful mix of humanity. Black Parade is an incredible album, says this ancient dude. I couldn’t believe how indifferent the crowd seemed to be towards St Vincent last night. Weird. Annie Clark was the draw to me.
