For me it comes down to this conversation I had with my anti-vax neighbor. She's comparing vaccine risk against zero risk. When I asked her how the incidence of MMR vaccine side effects stacked up against deaths and long-term effects of the diseases, she answered, "I never thought about that."

"Death rates from measles in the 1950s were about 1 in 1000 cases. Do you play the lottery?"

Reminds me of somebody on Usenet saying their state didn't need a bottle/can recycling law because they never saw much glass along the highways. Which was because of that law. And back when I got measles, US milk had already long had vitamin A supplements which RFKjr said should've prevented it.

He'd rather you get your supplements from a grifter, drink raw milk, and get measles. Gotta thin the flocks down to the few turkeys who don't die of bird flu, then rebuild from there. If I were a eugenicist, he would be on my list.

It's really incompetent eugenics for measles. Death rates were about 1/1000 cases, a bit higher before modern medicine, so that's not enough to breed measles out of the population in under a few thousand generations.
