No one thinks an American invasion of Venezuela is plausible. Indeed the only goal of Donald Trump’s manoeuvres may be theatre

Trump knows he's been losing since his inauguration, and badly needs (a) a win, (b) to distract from #Epstein. Unfortunately (c) he always chickens out. That said, removing Maduro and his regime would be a huge positive for Venezuela, 25% of its population have had to flee to not starve.

Don't be too sure, t-Rump will do anything. If we do interfere in Venezuela they will end up with a bigly great government, a booming economy and permanent peace with us as a welcoming ally -- JUST LIKE HAITI after we invaded them and installed the leader of our choice. Look at their prosperity now!

What a waste of money and resources for the vanity of one man and his foolish belief in his own power. SAD.

Few people thought a Russian invasion of Ukraine was plausible. Luckily Trump has plenty of independent advisors happy to tell him he's wrong ... errr ... maybe there's a problem here ... #politics

For God’s sake, Venezuelan oil is not what it used to be. People thinking that it’s a petroleum grab have a mindset from the 1960’s. This is just Trump trying to rally the support of the Latino base he has alienated with ICE raids.

Yeah, but trump is only the face. Lauder has spent his entire career manipulating behind the scenes. A sidenote: did you see the bounty they put on Maduro

Reward Offer Increase of Up to $50 Million for Information Leading to Arrest and/or Conviction of Nicolás Maduro The Department of State and the Department of Justice are announcing a reward offer increase of up to $50 million under the Narcotics Rewards Program (NRP) for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Nicolás Maduro for violating U.S. narcotics laws. For over a decade, Maduro has been a leader of Cartel de los Soles, which is responsible for trafficking drugs into the United States. On July 25, 2025, the U.S. Department of the Treasury designated Cartel de Los Soles as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). Since 2020, Maduro has strangled democracy and grasped at power in Venezuela. Maduro claimed to have won Venezuela’s July 28, 2024, presidential election but failed to present any evidence that he had prevailed. The United States has refused to recognize Maduro as the winner of 2024 election and does not recognize him as the President of Venezuela. Today’s reward offer is authorized by the Secretary under the NRP, which supports law enforcement efforts to disrupt transnational crime globally and bring fugitives to justice as a key pillar of President Trump’s “America First” priorities. If you have information, please contact the DEA by phone (voice, WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, or text) at +1-202-681-8187, or by email. If you are located outside the United States, you may also visit the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. If you are in the United States, you can also contact the local DEA field office. ALL IDENTITIES ARE KEPT STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL. Government officials and employees are not eligible for rewards. https://www.state.gov/reward-offer-increase-of-up-to-50-million-for-information-leading-to-arrest-and-or-conviction-of-nicolas-maduro

The Trump administration could have saved the ransom money by not putting him back in power and just sending Madura straight to jail?
