This post from an Oregon Republican FB group is indicative of how far down the authoritarian rabbit hole some rank and file republicans have gone. They are outraged that some middle aged white normie Dems are allowed to make posters in the public library. McCarthyism on steroids.

I can’t help but think that Candy would benefit greatly from using a library to read a book!

State and especially county Republican parties have completely batshit crazy for quite a while, and I think the national party is finally being infected by that craziness. It’s just a sign that the GOP is bananas from the roots up.
Oregon Republicans are a vociferous bunch. They are drastically outnumbered and so they attempt to make up for that by being as loud and ridiculous as possible.
Those signs’ messages seem like something old school conservatives could get behind. If they were actually interested in small government.
