2/5 Republicans care not about governance. They care not about the ideal of America and Democracy. Their vertical morality revolves around one supreme authority, strict obedience, & a strong hierarchy with drastic consequences if you step out of line. This framework’s great for religious whackos.
3/5 This blind obedience is what we are seeing play out. It is the through line of the modern #GOP, and the full blown #MAGA chuds just want to own the libs & have a “leader” tell them their horribleness is acceptable. #Authoritarianism aligns with the vertical morality system. This is where we are
4/5 Fellow democrats, liberals, & progressives. You can’t use things like empathy, community, shared responsibility, or collective work to appeal to Republicans. These ideals do NOT align with a vertical morality system. These are part of a horizontal morality system. They are anathema to them.
5/5 Republicans need a “strict father” to instruct them & provide consequences. That is why we must fight fire with fire. We need bold, aggressive actions like Crockett, AOC, Pritzker, Newsom are doing. We will defeat these horrible people. Collectively. Together. Organize. Mobilize. #Resist
