The one time I had to fly (trans-Atlantic) with crutches, they moved us to the front. Close to the john, and with the most legroom to be had in Economy.

You are lucky. as a teen i had to fly with a broken leg in a cast from Tel Aviv to NYC on Tower Air and they gave me an aisle seat in the middle of coach but it was on the wrong side (broken leg in vs out), next to a pregnant woman who had to get up every 5 minutes to pee. Miserable for both of us.
