All jokes aside, if you took all the money paid in premiums to both private and gov't insurers, you might be well on your way to paying for a single payer option like Medicare for All. Plus there would be plenty of unforseen savings to make it all worth it.

You would also save a huge amount just by cutting a lot of red tape and administrative costs

Hey I’ve been paying for Medicare for decades out of my paychecks and my taxes towards Medicaid. Now that I’m finally old enough to start using it they want to take it away. I want a full refund of all the money I paid into it plus interest!!
