Probably their faces becoming more prominent after the movie & doing tv interviews. She published under a new name so it’s realistic that people might not have connected the dots for a long time & tip off someone who then cared enough to follow up due to the movie’s prominence?
Investigative reporting takes time
The publishers, Penguin, should have done due diligence. It seems all it took was reporters asking questions around the village to get someone to loosen their lips.
It’s 7 years since it was published - I get investigative journalism takes time, but that is a long time - and 3 books plus Gigspanner Saltlines and the film - how come no one spoke up?
The human condition? Who knows why people keep secrets for years, let wrongs fester, get bitter and finally let it out. People have all kinds of personal motivations for not speaking up. Sometime it just needs another person to care enough to peel back a layer and ask difficult questions.

No I’m not, not at all. Just curious why it’s taken this long, that’s all. If it’s true then I’ve been taken in as much as everyone - have read the books, seen the concert & the film and was eagerly awaiting the new book.
