No, but they aren't the enemy. It's fine to treat progressive-leaning center as unreliable, unhelpful, and an occasional liability. But anyone wasting time being angry at the center is equally useless. Rage is a resource. Even if you think yours is infinite, its impact diminishes. Aim it wisely.

'm aware that they will be welcome allies to a more progressive element while things are awful, but people should remain realistic about it. Some of these are types who opine: 'Well...I'm not entirely convinced about government running healthcare...' They're not that great.

I just think that when the hardest part of finding analogies for what's going on is picking out which year of the 1930s we're talking about, temporary allies are fine, just don't rely on them. Yes, the fact that the bar's that low is depressing. I'll reflect on that in my memoirs if we make it.
