Again, Sanders lost in a 12 point landslide to Clinton among VOTERS. Voters picked who they wanted. Dunno how you attribute that to a party apparatus that does very little.
It raised questions and caused confusion. Later, in 2024, threatening to call an open convention made the optics worse. The point is that people are holding their breaths for another cyclical repeat rather than drastic change, and hope is at a pretty low point with party sentiment at a low.
And the only evidence ever provided of anything nefarious is that a few staffers were upset that an independent was using Democratic Party resources, vocally disliked him, and were told in no uncertain terms to STFU and do their job to let voters decide.
