Necessity is the mother of invention.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
Impressed nevertheless!
It’s not ugly! I need one for mine.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I can't imagine anyone calling this thing beautiful, but it hopefully fulfills its function!
it sure looks as if it will.
I hope it was!
It does have a certain “Je ne sais, c’est quoi ?”
My husband is creative, I should find the picture of the 2x4 that he attached half a dozen remotes to so they wouldn't get lost when we had small children. Honestly, that was ugly! 😂🤣😂
But a certain grasp of fundamental design, function over form.
He's very good at function over form. 😉
Ah the utilitarian items! It’s hard to muffle those “make it pretty” voices in your head but it sounds like he’s as happy as can be! And who doesn’t love saving money?!? I hope it works the way he wants it to. Now you can go back to making your beautiful quilts!
Seriously, would that I could make everybody that happy with such little effort. 😅
Very nice and it’s all homegrown !
Made me laugh!
I rolled my eyes sewing the thing together but, my husband is super happy with it so what do I know. 😂
But is it functional? That's all that counts!
He doesn't know yet. He'll have to test how much voltage is used over a period of time to see if it makes a difference. But if it doesn't, he's only out one old blanket and a little teeny bit of batting cast offs.
FUNCTION!! I don't think it's ugly, creative!!
It's exactly what my husband envisioned, mission accomplished!
I'll withhold comment..since you can probably hear me laughing from here.
Yup! But to be fair I was working hard to not laugh while I was sewing the thing together for him. 🤣
to be fair, a patterned fabric would be more forgiving. Or, you could use those stick-on Velcro anchors.
It's literally two pieces of old blanket with some batting in the middle sewn together. It was as utilitarian as you can get, there was zero effort to make it cute!
😂 I can see doing something like that. You saved 40 bucks! No one is going to see it.
My husband is so ridiculously pleased. I'm thrilled the half hour I spent stitching this thing together makes him happy.
He knows you're a keeper!
I told him, as long as you don't mind the lovely blue green thread because that's what I've been using on the quilt I'm working on. 🤣
Same here, on vacay and had to repair a fitted sheet and all I had was denim colored sashiko/boro thread. Also took care of a torn laundry bag and fixed the handle of a stuff sack. Not pretty, but functional. Nice job.
Sometimes we have to be functional, it can all be fun. ♥️
*can't be all fun.
