I honestly can't tell. my gut sense is that it's resentment about potential mothers competing for breadwinner jobs -- e.g., Heinlein's psychotic reaction to his wife working -- but it seems to be driven by adult children now? I dunno, man. one of those tells I wasn't raised to American standard.
Yeah. This feels like a type of reaction to the post 1980 economy, but I also think it has to be more than just that.
