Have you tried to go nude into a shopping mall?

Well, others have. I know nudists; this is not a new conversation. But I see you're still trying desperately to not talk about other religious garb. Best of luck. Sorry you don't want to have a serious conversation.

I'm having a serious conversation about cultures and whether or not we should accept anything one culture sees as “normal”. My take is that, no, we shouldn't, and that a woman wearing a burqa out of her free will is most likely forced to do that by the community.

Ok, and not other cultural/religious garments? How about guys in turbans? (They're also carrying knives btw. fun fact.)

I mean, I buzz my hair every few weeks. I can't imagine not cutting it, and braiding it up under a turban. Freaking decades worth of hair in some cases. Is that "normal?"

Because these garments do not disempower a vulnerable population. If they were, I’d be against that.

Maybe look into the history of how yarmulkes and keepahs of various designs had to be certain colours, to announce to the 'good Christians' that there was a Jew in their midst.

It was not the garment that was disempowering, it was the actual disempowering steps by the government that were at fault. Forcing people to wear, or not wear, certain pieces of clothing.
