Best Friday I’ve spent in quite a while. Short easy hike with a dear friend at Las Conchas, hour of soaking at Jemez Hot Springs, margarita and green chile cheeseburger at Los Ojos Restaurant and Saloon, with dead animals hanging over our heads. We loved our server; bet she’s been there forever.
East Fork Jemez River at Las Conchas trailhead is one of the prettiest places in NM. Green meadows studded with wildflowers, tall conifers, and rhyolite crags bolted for sport climbing line the small river valley. Fauna included ground squirrels, chipmunks, and grazing cattle.
I’m cringing at how jealous I am right now.
I needed to touch water so much. Slight chance of rain at home this evening, too. Temperature dropped below 70 at 6:30!!!!
