I think that it's easy to see incompleteness as failure, but that is not how MAGA does see it. OTOH, I also think knowing the strategy and learning from it can be resistance. Democrats kinda flopped on immigration bc they already ceded to propaganda.
For sure in the election context, no one suppression tactic needs to fully succeed on its own. Strategy succeeds as long as the sum of the tactics lets them stay in power.
It was easy to look at sheriffs acting mostly ridiculous attempting to overturn elections, and they were unquestionably kookoo. But people did (wrongfully) go to prison in AZ and FL and TX and there's a sort of cloud around a few issues.
at this point, this conversation is people talking past each other I took bouie to mean that trump doesnt have *legitimate* tools to bully states into compliance, but that doesn’t mean *no* tools It’s worth highlighting Trump’s chosen tools are unlawful! Doesnt make them any less harmful tho
I get that; we don't want to concede ground. I don't always know myself how to balance it.
