I have a feeling we will find out pretty quick. It would be awesome if every school sends Governor Abbott an email telling him they will not be ignoring the courts orders.

The intent of the law is to create a case for SCOTUS to so ... something. The text of THE 10 commandments doesn't appear in any translation of Exodus. It comes from a SCOTUS case and matches the text in laws in AR and LA. The laws even match. Schools can just silently not comply.
Let's hope they do. There is a school superintendent in Oklahoma pushing hard for the Bible to be placed in public schools as well. Republican operated schools will probably abide by Abbott's orders while Democratic ones won't. We will have to see how the nazi governor punishes the ones that won't.
SCOTUS recently insisted that parents have an extra-special right to opt out of classroom content that interferes in their religious belief. In that case it was LBGTQ content. Christians don't agree on the content of THE Bible. I see parents taking issue with a OK official version of holy text.
