I've never quite understood the aversion people have with that word... I don't get bothered by it myself, so I lack a firsthand experience with it

Is it a USA thing?
I'm in the US and I have no problem my husband has no problem but there's people in my household that do like my son and daughter-in-law but I say if that's a bad word so is hard and thick
So a piece of timber that would be hard and thick if it wasn't so moist is a no no!
I don't know for certain. There would need to be more research done.
