I suppose I shouldn't be surprised considering all the other criminal enterprises they run. At this rate, I would be surprised to find something they -don't- have their hands in. The question now is: How do we stop them?

Honestly, I don't know. They have infiltrated every system. Sports, gambling, banks, government, police, itel, churches...they are literally in every establishment.
It sounds like it would require a similarly organized group to root them out, then. That's a big undertaking, and would require just as much (if not more) secrecy than they employ.
Yes, well I think the problem is that there are good people in these circles, but they get shut down. They also end up having to used nefarious methods to gain trust, which also leads to more abuses.
It is exceedingly difficult to fight corruption while mired in it
