The rednecks I grew up with in central Florida are mostly Trumpers. Racism and fear of anything different are big factors but the 24/7 propaganda on Fox, talk radio, podcasts, & in their churches are the main reasons for their ignorance and hate. They always vote against their own interests, too.

It goes back to the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Kennedy, a democrat was POTUS at the time. Cubans felt betrayed because Kennedy didn't send in the Marines to back up the failed invasion. They've been voting republican ever since.

Florida has been that way for well over a decade with Fox. I saw that not only at the airport but everytime I sat in a hospital waiting room since 2006. Fox definitely brainwashed my parents against Obama and it only got worse from there.

Those stations are part of basic cable packages. MSNBC is part of premium packages. Cable subsidizes Fox. I cut the cord when I learned that. No regrets.
