fire currently destroying multiple decades-vacant buildings in downtown baltimore right next to a light rail line. buildings that would be occupied and thriving in a country, state and city (in that order of culpability) that cared about cities, the environment, history, anything besides profit.
(far from the most important thing right now. but still.)
Is it also any of the buildings that we can’t dare do anything to because we’d rather let them rot into nothing than let a “historic” building be torn down?
or just ask a developer to - heaven forbid - not make the MAXIMUM amount of profit available by replacing historic buildings with cheap crap. whichever way you want to look at it.
or pretending to replace the buildings but really just robbing the investor
