As a kid, I was coerced into learning the chanter via The Boys Brigade. I have never liked the bagpipes, going as far as "What do you call a music lover? A fellow musician and friend of mine attended a concert with two pipers playing. We went after a rehearsal and had had several beers. We were late to the concert but were delighted to find seats in the front row. I will never forget the volume, it made our faces hurt.

Thought I would share. In France a few years there is a French Navy band from Brittany (Bagad Lann Bihoue) with bagpipes. I found myself crying over a YouTube video. I know I have Scottish ethnicity but 2 weeks later MyHeritage gave me Brittany on their update. It’s on YouTube.
