The real solution will be, as must happen in other so called democracies, an honest conversation about voting and the responsibilities that come with that. America isn’t the only country with the same challenges ahead. If we’ve truly learnt the lessons of the past we have to change the conversation.
We need more governors to speak this forcefully. Where are the former presidents and VP’s? They need to join together and speak the truth with one voice!

Because they are benefitting, they’re getting those tax breaks we are not, they have health insurance on our dime for life (I lost my ACA today, its already happening), insider trading, insider real estate, retirement on our dime for life, don’t have to worry about the price of food, etc.

I think Democrats should allow a government shutdown this time so ICE and National Guard can’t be funded. It’ll be a sacrifice on all our parts, but it would be better than this dictatorship.

Authoritarian regimes are always removed by the people. Until millions are in the streets, a few hard-hitting politicians aren’t going to be enough. I know that sounds defeatist and I hate to be saying it, but the US is too far gone now to solve this by relying on political norms.
