Glycine is an amino acid found in protein-rich foods (meat, fish, dairy, legumes, gelatin). In this sense, it’s part of the normal human diet and considered a food component.

Because something is found in food, does not mean that taking it in a concentrated amount is safe for everyone. Vitamin A is found in foods, high level supplements are dangerous, ditto, calcium, sodium, the list goes on and on......
