I don't feel that the world will get better, but as a practitioner of chaos magick, I'm going to live like it will anyway. What's the worst that can happen? Nothing at all. What's the best that can happen? Maybe somewhere, in a tiny sliver of the universe, even just my heart, something will change.
It really hit me the other day that things are only going to get worse - much worse - from here. Not forever, of course, but for a long while. I've been reading too many histories of authoritarian regimes. They are all a broken record of suffering.
Your bit of magic will make whatever moments we have left better moments.

I was just moving around a piece of art while dusting that referenced Octavia Butler, and I always love her quote: "All that you touch You Change. All that you Change Changes you. The only lasting truth is Change. God is Change."
Thank you for that beautiful quote from Octavia. I've read all her stuff! I don't know why but I feel teary. It's rough. Work, friends, family plans, life, as if it's not all coming to an end and soon. Always this anger and dull ache or worse in my heart and mind. Trying to be normal.
I'm sorry that it all is so heavy right now. I understand. I've been struggling with those feelings too. I hope that you can find some peace, even just for a moment.

This is what magick truly IS. Our will shaping ourselves, and thus the world around us. But whew, that futility vibe has hands sometimes.
My existential despair has been kicking me in the kidneys with steel-toed boots lately, so the break from it was a nice moment. :)
