We are not allowed off the plane. Pilot says they're checking to see if we can get to Orlando or if we need to deplane and try again tomorrow. In the meantime, plane is being refueled so we can make it to Orlando, flooding the cabin with the nauseating smell of gasoline. Hooray.
The man sitting next to me decides to call his wife/lover/"baby girl" to inform her that "Daddy is gonna be late but when I get home..." A lengthy and extremely detailed description of what daddy is gonna do to baby girl when he gets home follows. My ears are burning.
We finally fly to Orlando. It is now almost midnight. Get to the baggage claim to get our bags. Informed that one made it to Orlando but the other is still in Dallas. Freak out immensely.
Turns out they put the bags on the wrong carousel. Find both bags and meet up with family. Feel much less upset.
Good god...
Oh yeah. It has been a trip. I'm headed back to Australia now so... Fingers crossed we have a boring trip back.
Get to Budget car rentals. They do not have our car. They do not have any cars. I freak out. Budget lady freaks out. She goes to all the other car rental places to beg for a car. ANY CAR.
We get a car. It is the fanciest BMW in the world. It is so fancy that @lordbinary.wombotuff.au has no idea how to drive it. But it is an upside and we are now finally finally finally in Orlando. Glory be.
