My dream as an author was to have my book sitting on a shelf in a local library. Acton Public Library in Acton, Maine, made that dream come true. The librarian emailed to tell me it's in circulation.

π! (I donβt write literature, but I publish scientific papers. And I still recall how giddy I was when I found my first publication appear in a print journal in our science library (and, by extension, in hundreds of libraries across the world). I felt like now I am actually a *real* scientist. π)

If you're writing non-fiction, publishers want to see you have a platform but for fiction? Not an issue. Opinions may vary, but imo if you write, you're an author.
