My kids are 18 as of eight minutes ago. My ex no longer has any hold on me. FREEDOM!

Congrats π
I really wish I could say this was true but my daughter decided my ex was preferable.
I was stuck until our youngest graduated University. (This year)
When my son turned 18, his mom said she didn't have to be nice to me anymore, so no, he couldn't borrow the car to come to his grandmother's funeral (my MIL). She eventually gave him the car, but even after knowing her as I did, I couldn't believe she said something like that out loud.
That is so petty and rotten. I'm sorry for both you and your son that you had to put up with that.
Congrats! Thatβs huge!
Fly! Be free!! Congrats, you made it!
Congrats! It's a wonderful feeling, I know!
Ohhhhhhh, I know that feeling!!
Exhale and than dance!!!

Thatβs a wonderful feeling!
10 more months ...
I hope they're good ones!
It's a great feeling. Congrats!
Go on a holiday you were not previously able to.
Oddly enough that's when my ex and I started talking again. We only fought over raising the kids. Once they were all adults, we didn't have anything left to fight about.
I'm glad that worked out for you. I'm sure it was a relief!
I remembered when this happened for me and it is truly a wonderful day and you should celebrate it every year
Celebrate!! I know that feeling too.
Oh donβt worry, there are still holidays and weddings.
But there are no more lawyers, and I can move wherever I want without needing his approval. π
I know and that is great. I totally understand.
Thank you for your service. Your kids are always your kids and I hope you always provide some type of support, emotional or otherwise. Yes, the ex control is, I'm sure, baggage you're glad to be rid of.
100%! One kid chose to live with him (and I'm here for her if she ever needs me) and the other is living with me while she goes to college. βΊοΈ
My youngest son's HS office was the bomb when it came to my ex. He apparently got on their nerves about him having the grades/credits for graduation. Son turned 18 a month b4 graduation, and when ex called, one woman told him they couldn't give out info on son, since he was now 18 & give ok to do it

Congratulations!
Run, baby, run!!!! Do so quietly, please. This is the most dangerous time to leave an abuser; verbal, emotional, physical or otherwise. Spread your wings and fly!!!! Love, a survivor sister. π¦π
Congrats πππππ

I'm happy for you!
