Just need to share that I'm kicking myself for not paying attention. Amazon will occasionally offer me a one-week trial of Prime for a discount, which I recently took to get faster shipping on something I need. Not only is the item late, I got charged full price. 🤦♀️

Some quick and dirty math says I'd have to spend almost $800/mo for it to be worth the subscription. To get my stuff one or two days earlier. But no minimum order.

I only ever get offered a week, and typically I only take it if it's $1.99. I could have SWORN it said it was free but nope, full charge on my card. That'll teach me to pay attention!

I'm avoiding Amazon ATM, but I've had many times in the past couple of years where the prime shipping was slow and I might as well have not used it.
Some people boycott Amazon for being too monopolistic.

Amazon also won't accommodate shipping for people with disabilities. They keep leaving packages for the disabled with back issues and service animals over 1/3 a mile from their residence, in a locker unreachable from a wheelchair. They say it's part of some "Ethical Code" for their driver to follow
Canceling is tricky as well, you need to find it and fight your way through several “are you sure” prompts.
I already canceled it, as soon as I saw the charge on my card.
I haven't used Amazon in at least 2 years. Canceled WaPo a year ago. F Bezos with his peni-rockets. 😉
