In spite of his mild appearance, Garland was the most successful federal prosecutor in several decades. He was the logical choice for DOJ. Trump got more Supreme Court & judicial appointments than any other president in US history. They will plague us for another generation.

Biden can't interfere with DOJ actions. Garland had monkey wrenches thrown into his actions by Trump appointed judges & Justices who ruled with Trump in every one of his multiple appeals & did an unprecedented slow wslk of each of them. Cannon dismissed the ones assigned to her.
