Alien 3 is the second best Alien film, hands down. I'm not even joking. Incredible acting, an atmosphere as thick as night, a dark realism that mirrors that psycho-sexual agony of the alien itself. 2 is good, but it's telling a story, a series of events, it isn't communicating more than that.

I love aliens it’s basically a perfect action horror movie but the biggest sin it commits is making xenomorphs cannon fodder. A single xenomorph is defcon 4 levels of dangerous. Alien Earth actually does a good job communicating how deadly they are.
Totally agree, seeing them blown apart in waves by a few marines really cheapened them as an aspect of horror. The Aliens: Dark Descent game has the same concept but done way better, the marines never kill aliens en masse without tons of prep. LOVING Alien Earth so far.
Dark descent is so underrated. RTS isn’t really my thing but the story really hooked me. As mid as AvP the first movie is did like that the predators were pretty much outmatched with the xenomorphs when they didn’t have their fancy weapons. Like they def have a chance to beat one but not easily.
Dark Descent sends my anxiety through the roof but that's a testament to how well it does the concept. I watched AvP just yesterday and thought that while it was poorly directed, it was pretty interesting with cool ideas. Really sticks out how the aliens were seemingly smarter than preds and humans
