A number of years ago, someone from my partner's cohort at the University of Alaska was visiting in Socal and wanted to go the beach with their kid... In January. He'd never been to ANY ocean so I guess he still thought it was neat but that water was frosty

I’m CHOOSING to do this for fun why would I wear a 5ml wetsuit or a dry suit when I could go to the Caribbean or the Gulf and dive in shorts?
