I think you could have an interesting conversation about the composition of the canon and the ways in which that fits into larger power structures! This is uh unlikely to be the lead in to that conversation.

even taking out the AI silliness, doing a pivot from a “recommended reading list” to a take about neoliberal multiculturalism and its blindspots…it’s a showoff move, a pretense of a thought, no more substantial than cake frosting.

would Obama’s reading list including a Native author suggest that neoliberal multiculturalism has an endless capacity to swallow dissident/anticolonial voices into a publishing industry format? who can say? only the whims of a Gifted Kid’s creative spirit can guide us!
