Hope so. I also believe that when this is done it will likely be the ICC doing or supporting the investigation and trials. Very few other bodies have that international expertise. I am glad they exist. Wish they had more support.

We’ll get there. Major resistance seems to from from original constitutionalists. There’s a way to ensure ICC and Supreme Court laws are able to work together.

It should be. The ICC is not woke by any stretch of the imagination. Don’t torture people is not that high a bar! And in theory should be aligned with the laws of the US…

So, from my perspective the UN and other related bodies are a negotiation table. The bare minimum. from there, states can be unique based on culture and norms, local laws. It’s up to each countries federal and/or state government and nongovernmental organizations to uphold the laws. 1/2

The UN can impose sanctions but they haven’t deterred many countries. US seems to be siding with Russia now so it will be interesting to see how the UN handles these new alliances. Of course Americans have to keep raising the alarm and documenting the abuses.

That way there’s checks and balances and we don’t have a dictator situation, or breaking human rights law en masse. This is not hard, but we have a lot of stubborn folks. We need to be more stubborn. 2/2

And understand this as any sane person would. But 45 has thrown out contracts that he himself negotiated and signed. Fascism always fails. Their time will come but I can’t imagine 45 ever respecting any UN convention that the US signed. And ICC will not come to a country and take a war criminal
