I spent years walking past the Library of Congress on a daily basis. Never saw any crime there. Not even an overdue book. This is absurd.

Don't forget: dictators do not want people to be educated. Educated people cause trouble for dictators. And libraries are 'hotbeds of education.'

Why does no one ask about the cost of this? Where's Speaker Dirksen? Where's Wisconsin Senator Proxmire?

Perhaps take a look at who serves on the Library of Congress Trust Fund Board. Think at least one name will pop out. www.loc.gov/programs/sup...

I’m starting to lump all police/ice/military into the same bucket: vile tools of fascism (even if they appear bored)

Perhaps they were posted there to prevent people going inside the library.

Authoritarian fascism is always absurd. And there's only one thing that will stop it now.

I assume most of the crime is occurring half a block south of the Library of Congress Madison building on First St at the headquarters of the RNC.

These are people called out of their regular lives to do this. I am sure some of them enjoy the break, but I am assuming a lot of them are fuming over the damage this is doing to their career and jobs back home and for this?

One of my favorite places in DC. Can the federal troops go in and take a tour of the Jefferson wing and read the Declaration of Independence in the National Archives? Low level crime in DC I spent summers visiting my family in MD since 1970. Not one crime against this very white women.

Because lies are everywhere. Plz note that DC does not even rank for highest crime in a city realestate.usnews.com/places/ranki... The below photo pertains to states. Plz note the highest 3 are RED states.

It's also ridiculous that the Republican governors who haven't cleaned up crime in their own backyard are sending people to other places, to, you know, clean up crime ???

This is dictatorship. Let's see the centrists say "well, there IS crime" and then point to heavily armed soldiers patrolling the Library of Congress.
