Tariff refunds will go to corporations, not consumers. As with the bank bailouts of earlier times, all will be well with the world. (Bullshit). It will cost us, the taxpayers, billions. But let's take a wider view - how much will the wrongful terminations, and other wrongful actions cost us?

Trying to undo u.s. tariffs already collected is going to be one big cluster fu#k. Retail prices won’t reflect the cancellations and average Joe u.s. citizen will never recover the money they’ve paid because of tariffs.

I can guarantee that we, the consumer, have been paying the tariffs on all goods and produce being imported into the U.S. If the tariffs are withdrawn we will not see a dime of the price increases we’ve spent:Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, appliances, cars, avocados etc Prices will not drop.

There is NO way SCOTUS will rule against the tariffs. It will either rule in favor, or it will delay the case indefinitely so that the tariffs remain in place for the duration of the Trump regime.

Forget for the moment about the cost to the US Treasury of disgorging the revenues it illegally collected from the illegally imposed tariffs, determining who is eligible to claim refunds won't be easy unless limited solely to businesses and individuals who directly paid those tariffs. 1/2

2/2 Federal law in the antitrust price fixing context addresses a similar problem by limiting claims solely to direct purchasers, which in the case of illegally imposed tariffs would be direct payors of the illegally imposed tariffs. (Illinois Brick.) But that wouldn't necessarily apply to tariffs.

Supr Ct is fully within its POWER to declare that the tariffs are illegal & must be ended for future w/o need for retroactive action Not logical but still fully within their power Lower courts made ruling based on law & precedent. If USSC overturns ruling, they will, again, just be making new law
