I have dual citizenship, as an Australian with a Canadian mother. From what I’ve learned, I would need to “activate” my Canadian citizenship, but if I were to enter politics, according to Australian law I’d need to renounce my Canadian citizenship, activated or not.
So poignant.
My wife is eligible and I've really been meaning to submit all those materials
Go to the West Coast and it's like microdosing freedom
Just double checking my possible shot aaaaaaaaand nope, my parents didn't stay nearly long enough. 😭
Can relate to that feeling.
My grandmother was a UK citizen. Had she moved anywhere in the Commonwealth, I could've gotten an Ancestry visa. But no. Had to be America 👍
TBF it was post-WWII and my grandfather was unreasonably hot
lol that’s so vividly true…
I should do some research to see if anybody would take me lol
Instant follow 👏👏👏
I have dual Aussie citizenship…… thanks Goodness 🇦🇺!!!
Word.
😔😢
I was a Norwegian citizen at birth and I’m about to get a passport for the first time. I don’t know if I’ll actually go. But it’s nice to have options
I have permanent residency in another country, but for now I need to live in the U.S. for health care and other reasons. It sucks. I want to be there, and I especially want to be not here in the U.S.
And knowing that every day we cannot get an adoptive country is one day closer to when the pound will murder us…
going to breathe a huge sigh of relief when I can manage to get that done
Me cursing my parents, who both had 4 Irish grandparents, for not getting their Irish citizenship before I was born so I could then get dual citizenship
Are your parents still alive? They can do that now if so. Once they have citizenship, you can get it using them as your connection.
Solid exit strategy! Mines Canada!🤣🤣🤣
😭 how’d they do that?
I need to go to New York to visit a consulate and update my passport. But Brexit really fucked me.
