Because my colleagues aren’t in my classroom? Because there are ways to use the classroom to teach appropriate device use? Because this seems to be a one-size-fits all solution that doesn’t consider the situation of students? Because a poll by the NEA isn’t ground for my classroom policy?

I believe there are ways to teach device usage. And that is the better solution. My main point is calling teachers foolish is a tough sell. Becuase you are not in their classrooms and some of them have to break up fights that start over text messages traded during class time.

And you’re not in my classroom, my man. That’s also not what you said in your first reply.

Given. But my context is always compassionate boundries. (read my pin) I don't allow them in my classroom unless there is a reason. I have kids who are having a rough day and thier phones are emotional support homies. I try to create an environment where my kids can say "I need help".

But mostly, it's scrolling instead of looking at the very engaging, fun and responsive experiment I have created for the class.
