When I saw Gypsy on Broadway this spring the very nice lady next to me proudly showed me the summary of the play she’d had ChatGPT do for her. She thought it was so novel. She was very nice so I didn’t say, why do you need a summary we are watching it right now????

Given how expensive they must have been, she didn't google the show before buying the tickets?

I would have been a lot less nice to her honestly.

There must be a million summaries already in existence but she loved the fact that it was AI written therefore better 🤷‍♀️

This gets at the fact that what a lot of people say they like about ChatGPT can be accomplished with a Google search (or, if you want fewer ads and less tracking, a DuckDuckGo search).

It’s too bizarre…I am so glad people are talking about this! I needed to check my sense of it. I encountered this and it’s let me down a rabbithole of trying to use chatbot to see WTF they are talking about it and IT MAKES NO SENSE. Why do I test, you ask? They seem so sincere, so convinced.
