How is research funding at national labs doing these days?

I am retired. The Labs funding seems stable according to local reporting. Natl lab funding doesn’t go through DOE. Funding is a line item in appropriations. Like all funded govt entities the labs suffer w CR’s.

Yet healthcare workers are leaving? Don’t think you’re somehow safe from vulture capital.

We used to get told in the Philly area that we couldn't keep our doctors because of the high cost of malpractice insurance. Have 3 medical megasystems competing now. One announced they are moving their specialists to distant places. Improved patient care is not the motive for these megasystems.
