Yup, my first thought was that it was simply a discolored photo from an early 70s/80s camera, but the more I looked the more parts of it looked like the same kind of discoloration you get from old B&W film that's been colored using Ai

yeah, I felt it was discolored, but the idea that there was AI never hit me. I guess from now on, we have to accept AI may be involved in any photo or video. Scary thought. What IS real now?

when I upscaled my TAS animation to 5k, I used AI to upscale my paintings of planets. If I would have enlarged in photoshop, it would be blurry and crappy. But AI added tiny details all over that was perfect brush strokes, things I never did. 😱

The more this "tool" gets pushed into literally every corner of working life, the more actual workers' skills will be devalued - and accordingly paid less by the greedy corporate execs who think they themselves are safe from ever being replaced. 😐

I think the first goal of developers should be to replace CEOs and politicians! I think AI will kill jobs, then many artists will have trouble finding a place to develop their talent. As that atrophies, the industry will collapse. Less talent > less interesting shows > less $$$ > less shows

CEOs, yes. But much as I deride most of them, not so much the entire political "leadership"... Ever TOS, Trek has pointed out the potential for problems there (on the other hand it could easily be argued some of them would still do a far better job than the Orange Sack of Slime)

The giant rock sculpture snakehead entrance to the Vaal supercomputer, complete with glowing green eyes and forbidding fiery mouth, from Star Trek TOS episode Exposed! The supercomputer Landru, revealed through a hole blasted in the wall in TOS episode Blocky, suitably evil looking (with red eye and mouthpiece) supercomputer Agimus, from Star Trek Lower Decks episode The Custodian, the supercomputer running the now infertile Aldean society in Star Trek TNG episode

Ya know Odo might not approve of putting down an orange sack of slime. 😁 But point to Toph. 👍 I've not read DC comics lately. But I've read a version were relying on AI to govern caused Krypton to Boom. The AI in charge couldn't handle the facts, so it suppressed the info.

Couldn't handle the facts, you say...? Has anyone checked to see if Jim Kirk made any visits to a planet called Krypton?? 🤔

If Kirk had been there, he would have wrecked the AI, or given a speech that would have led to the Kryptonians avoiding the destruction of their world, which Spock would have discovered in the first 30 minutes.😁
