My mom is 81 and my sister and I are both nearly 50. She gives both of us a check. She still asks if the kids want gifts and we tell her, "OK, but it has to be gift card sized and say Nintendo or XBox."

"Yeah, Lorne is a fan of pinball. My favorite musical is Tommy and that's about a guy who plays pinball. It all fits." (KEY POINT: He was also "Lorne", being Jr. and me being III, so I tell people he was likely talking to himself in the store.)

I still tell my kids about getting the first-generation NES console for Christmas in 1985 and then my father demanding his time with Pinball (which he strategically bought with it) that afternoon once we set it up. Even then, I should have seen that move from him....because I do that too. LOL
