It used to be the medias job, if someone claimed it was raining, they checked. Now in the effort to be "fair and balanced" they stand in the sun and inform you "someone said it was raining, we have no real way of knowing if that's true!"

I'm not sure it's even technically lying. Words and numbers just fall out of his mouth. Is it lying if the words and numbers are not tethered to any meaning?
