I think that's correct, though it's weird that he's not being specific about our mayor. My other thought is that Cuomo is playing to the national RW donor class, which loves to vilify Chicago.

does Chicago have an enclave of big money donor types who also, by dint of not being in Chicago, don't vote in Chicago elections? yet city pols go kiss the ring(s) anyway? in NYC it's Suffolk County. Cuomo feels more comfortable there than anywhere inside city limits. wonder if there's an analog.

Yes. Similar dynamics in that we are faced with a progressive vs. a Rahm type every mayoral election. Last time, the progressive beat Paul Vallas, who sucks. Concerned that things will flip next election .

I know people who don’t live in NYC get annoyed by hearing about our politics, but this mayoral race has a guy who started a vigilante group and has 20 cats, a corrupt cop who was bought off by the Turks, a cranky and corrupt nepo baby, and a handsome socialist? It’s genuinely entertaining.
