You can still use coins. Most car parks have all 3 options, coins, card and app. However, a new thing is anpr parking. Basically, sign up to a particular app that covers certain car parks, register your number plate and a payment method. Just drive in and out.
Aha, that’s useful intel that I didn’t know. I’m not likely to need to know it, but I really was curious enough to ask. Thanks! I generally cannot be arsed with all the faff so I just avoid it all entirely - hence no car of my own! MOTs and servicing became way too stressful. Hated it. Gone 😮💨
